OGsys is committed to supporting the latest versions of the Windows® operating system for use with our products. We recognize the upgrade gap created by the poor reception of Windows Vista and are seeing rapid adoption of Windows® 7. Simply put: Yes, Windows® 7 is supported right now by OGsys products. The statements below detail our comprehensive support of the Windows 7 line with OGsql and OGwin.
OGsql is fully compatible with all versions of Windows (Windows 2000 and later). Compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit editions of said operating systems.
NOTE: OGsys products only support business/professional editions of the Windows® operating system; home editions are not supported by OGsys.
Running OGsql on a 64-bit edition of Windows will require:
The 32-bit version of the VC++ Runtime (vcredist_x86.exe)
The 64-bit version of the SQL Native Client 9.0 (sqlncli_x64.msi)
These prerequisites are freely available from Microsoft or OGsys.
OGwin is Fully compatible will all versions of Windows® (Windows 2000 and later). Compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit editions of said operating systems.
NOTE: OGsys products only support business/professional editions of the Windows operating systems; home editions are not supported by OGsys.
Pervasive statement: OGwin will require a version of the Pervasive Database Engine, aka Btrieve,
commensurate with the highest version of Windows® that will be accessing the OGwin product. See
Pervasive’s website (http://www.pervasive.com) for details regarding compatibility of its products
with various versions and editions of Windows. In a nutshell, v10 is required for versions of
Windows® that are greater than Windows XP/Windows Server 2003. If you are uncomfortable with
upgrading to the latest version, please consider upgrading to the OGsql product instead.
