What is OGWIN?
OGWIN is a complete accounting package for operators and non-operators. Designed by industry specialists actively engaged in the oil and gas industry, OGSYS is a user-friendly, menu-driven system based on the latest in database management technology. Its major capabilities include accounting systems focused on operators, non-operators, and investors.

OGSQL is the next stage of the OGWIN application. It replaces the Pervasive/Btrieve database backend with Microsoft SQL©. This provides many benefits to users: Intuitive 3rd party access to your data, additional transaction protection with rollback/re-start, increased scalability, and fewer concurrency issues.

OGSYS SQL Reporting was created to provide OGWIN users with a method to export data from OGWIN to a relational SQL format. It is used to query OGWIN data for specialized information that is not apart of the OGWIN report set.
Return to FAQsWhat software requirements are needed to run OGSYS programs?
Computer/Processor Requirements: Intel® or compatible. Pentium 1 GHz or higher, Pentium 4, or the minimum processor required for your operating system, which varies for SQL Server editions.
Memory: Workstation 256 MB minimum, Server 1024 MB (recommended). More RAM at the server level will promote improved throughput.
Hard Disk: full install 70 MB. Database size is contingent upon many company specific criteria, but average is around 500 megabytes.
Servers: Microsoft Windows 2000 Standard or Advance Server, Service Pack 4 or later must be installed as a minimum requirement for OGWIN. Windows 2003 Server is recommended. Small Business Server is not recommended. Novell 5 or later For Novell's product life cycle browse to http://support.novell.com/lifecycle/eoltable.html. Due to the large amount of processing OGSYS does not recommend peer to peer environments for over 2 users.

Return to FAQsWhat databases do you support?
The OGWIN product supports the Pervasive/Btrieve database engine. Also, with the optional SQL reporting program, Microsoft SQL Server is required. The OGSQL product requires only the Microsoft SQL Server (Version 2000 or greater, all editions supported [so long as Microsoft Licensing requirements are met]).

For the Server component (if used): Windows 2000 or greater, all editions*.
For the Workstation component: Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Professional*, Windows Vista* (Business and Ultimate). Please note: Home versions of the Windows operating system are NOT supported.
* The OGWIN application is 32-bit in nature. While compatible with 64-bit Windows Operating Systems, OGWIN will operate under WOW64.

Currently Macintosh is not supported.
Clarification: While it may be possible to run OGWIN under Macintosh hardware (i.e. using Bootcamp, Parallels, or some other virtualization technology, it is not supported by OGSYS).
Return to FAQsDo I need a server to run OGWIN?
It depends.
For multi-user environments (OGWIN accessible from more than one machine), a server is required.
For single station users (OGWIN installed on only one machine), a server is optional.
What type of training do you offer?
Our primary training is offered in live, instructor-led classes at our corporate office (at no charge to clients in a current support agreement). Our services team is happy to come to you. Personalized training onsite at your offices is offered for an additional fee. To further accommodate your training needs, we can schedule online classes focusing on specific features upon request. Email training@ogsys.com for the latest training schedule or to request online or onsite training.

All of your OGSYS users can attend as much training as need if you are in a current support agreement.

OGSYS application screens are only in English. However, OGSQL Reporting allows any language to be used for reporting purposes.
